Luis Suarez throws a tantrum as Uruguay get knocked out of the Copa America

Suarez doesn't like being on the bench

Luis Suarez is a frustrated man when things don’t go his way.

The Barcelona forward is a joy to watch, but is prone to the occasional flash of temper, as the Branislav Ivanovic’s arm, and Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder, will testify.

Suarez has appeared a calmer figure in recent seasons alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, but his temper boiled over on Thursday night as Uruguay were dumped out of the Copa America.

The 29-year-old came into the tournament carrying a hamstring injury, played no part in Uruguay’s opening tie, a 3-1 defeat to Mexico, and wasn’t considered fit enough for the must win game against Venezuela in Philadelphia.

He didn’t take the news well.

Suarez was bizarrely seen warming up on the sidelines during the game – despite not being named amongst the substitutes

Uruguay lost 1-0, with West Brom striker Salomon Rondon netting the only goal, and crashed out of the competition they’ve won 15 times.

Suarez was angry before and during the game, but he may have combusted when watching this dreadful miss from Edinson Cavani.
