It doesn’t matter if you’re utterly hopeless at golf, you can’t *not* appreciate a good hole-in-one.
While for or most of us, hitting a ball straight is a difficult enough skill to master – let alone ever scoring an ace – Louis Oosthuizen has developed a knack of finding the hole with his tee shot on the big occasion this year.
You’ll almost certainly remember what he did on the final round of The Masters a few months back….

Well, on the first day of The Open at Royal Troon, he went and did it again.
Admittedly, it wasn’t quite as fortuitous as the hole in one he registered at Augusta – the ball didn’t go in after making contact with another golf ball – but it’s impressive nonetheless.

The South African, who won the Claret Jug back in 2010, was two over par when he strolled up to the tee at the par 3 14th. This helped him finish the day even.
It was the first hole-in-one of this year’s Open, which runs until Sunday. Oosthuizen will be looking to go one better than he did last year, where he finished tied second with Marc Leishman after losing a playoff to Zach Johnson.
The drinks are on him.
