Irish fans are absolutely taking over New York ahead of UFC 205

Just a few hours to go.

Paul Moore

The wait is nearly over as UFC finally comes to New York.

In a city that has always had a strong connection to Ireland, it’s fitting that Dublin’s Conor McGregor will be the main event as he takes on Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title.

As is the norm with any UFC event, the press conference descended into mayhem, the smack-talk escalated and it’s all coming together for what looks like the most financially lucrative UFC event of all-time.

When the fight starts, all of this won’t matter though because McGregor and his fans will only have one thing on their mind, victory.

As always, The Notorious won’t be short of support when he makes his entrance at Madison Square Garden because it seems that the Irish supporters have taken over NYC.

McGregor might be the only Irish fighter on the UFC 205 card, but it certainly doesn’t seem like it on the strength of this footage.

Here’s a look at the weigh in and the scenes that followed it in Madison Square Garden. The wait is nearly over.
