What a character

If you’re not a fan of Gabor Kiraly then get the hell out of this article. We don’t want you here.

The Hungarian goalkeeper broke a record earlier this week when he became the oldest player ever to play at a European Championships at 40 years & 75 days old.

He kept a clean sheet against Austria in their Group F opener and five days later, he decided to get a little fancy.

No, he didn’t ditch the grey sweatpants for which he has become famous.

But he did break out a wonderfully unnecessary throw-out in the first half of Hungary’s clash with Iceland.

Rather than simply roll the ball to his centre-half, the former Crystal Palace stopper decided to use an American football-esque snap towards a teammate.

Why? We don’t know the answer to that question.
