With only 15 minutes left to play, rather than have to endure seeing his team slump to another poor result, he put himself out of his misery by ensuring he was taken out of the game.
Chivas' Jesus Sanchez tried to keep a wide ball active by pulling it back into play after it crossed the touchline, but La Volpe didn't like his eagerness.
So, he stopped him in his tracks by coming onto the field and putting the foot in. The right back went crashing down to the ground in a heap, while the manager was given his marching orders.
