“I get worried if I don’t fall out with people every few months.”

Roy Keane has been speaking about his disagreements with Sir Alex Ferguson again at an event in Ireland to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

After offering a few nuggets on the drinking culture in the Republic of Ireland team back in the 90s – when Jack Charlton would tell the players: “Lads, just be back in the morning before training” – Keane moved on to his ‘difficult’ relationship with Ferguson.

Keane was asked how he felt when he saw his former manager recently on a flight back from a Champions League game and joked he couldn’t give a proper answer because there were children in the room.

“I fell out with Ferguson towards the end but I had 12 and a half great years working with him and I wouldn’t swap that for anything, it was brilliant,” said Keane.

“People will talk about disagreements and fall-outs, but you’re trying to win football matches and there’s a lot of pressure.

“I like people to have disagreements, that’s the nature of the game we’re in. So the fact that I have disagreements with Ferguson or ex-team mates, to me that’s the most natural thing in the world.

“I get worried if I don’t fall out with people every few months.”

JOE isn’t surprised.
