We're not sure if Brendan Rodgers is attempting to be magnanimous here or if he's merely stating a fact.

The Liverpool manager has admitted that he will leave the club this summer if the owners want him to, which is basically standard procedure for how sackings work. It would be weird if he just sort of hung around, still trying to give team talks when the new man comes in. The Reds were humbled 6-1 at Stoke in Steven Gerrard's final appearance, marking their worst top-flight defeat since 1963.
