He's one of Europe's most in-demand strikers, but Alex Teixeira's future is still up in the air.

The Shakhtar Donetsk man is a target for Liverpool, among other clubs, and now he has revealed it's more than just a rumour. Speaking to Anfield HQ, Brazil Under-20 international Teixeira claims that a £25m bid has been made by the Premier League club - and rejected by the Ukrainian league leaders - and he doesn't know why. "It was a great offer. It was frustrating. But the manager and club president decided against it," he said. He said of his suitors: "It is a huge club. So many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt."
