Arsenal dropped two points this afternoon as they drew to Brighton and Hove Albion in a frustrating game for the away side.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's calm finish but the Gunners 1-0 up in the first half but a wayward defensive header from Stephan Lichtsteiner gave Jurgen Locadia a free run at goal, and the Dutchman made no mistake, rounding Berndt Leno before slotting the ball home.
Arsenal struggled to create any clear cut chances in the second half, and weird tactical substitutions baffled fans at the game and watching at home.
As the full time whistle blew, Emery kicked a water bottle in frustration after being held to just a point. The bottle flew towards Brighton fans, colliding with one of them.
The Spaniard was quick to apologise to the victim, offering a handshake. The fan accepted his apology and the situation was resolved quickly.
Asked about the incident during his post-match press conference, Emery explained: "I said to them apologies because I kicked the bottle after a disappointing action for us in the last minutes."
"It wasn't hard, but it touched one supporter. I said to them I'm sorry."
Arsenal remain six points ahead of Manchester United, but Ole Gunanr Solskjaer's immediate impact as interim boss has been hugely positive and the Red Devils are fast making up ground on the Gunners.
