UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos may have already booked his next defence

It looks like Rafael dos Anjos already has his next fight lined up.

At the time of writing, all but two fit UFC champions have a fight booked. Daniel Cormier was forced to pull out of his highly anticipated rematch against Jon Jones, so Bones will be slugging it out with Ovince Saint Preux for the interim strap in UFC 197’s main event.

The UFC have not announced what’s next for welterweight champion Robbie Lawler or lightweight king dos Anjos, but it looks like the latter may have a fight lined up.

Evolve MMA revealed on their official Facebook page that the Brazilian is returning to Singapore to start a training camp for his next fight and that “big news” will be released soon. Dos Anjos has been training at Evolve MMA since 2009, as well as Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, California.

It is unknown when his next fight will be, but with all the other top 155-ers already matched up with opponents, number-one contender Eddie Alvarez is a possible opponent for RDA’s next defence. However, considering Khabib Nurmagomedov is fighting a promotional newcomer in Darrell Horcher this weekend, and that the Dagestani has a win over the champ, perhaps a rematch is on the cards.
