Tyson Fury reveals impressive weight he’s already dropped on road to redemption

Well on his way

In case you didn’t hear, Anthony Joshua was fighting on Saturday night.

In an enthralling encounter, Joshua won the biggest fight of his career in front of 90,000 people with an 11th round stoppage.

Have a look for yourself if you’re the one person who somehow missed his stunning finish of Wladimir Klitschko.

Straight after the fight, the Olympic gold medallist called out Tyson Fury.

Fury has not fought since November 2015, when he beat the same man that Joshua overcame at the weekend.

In that fight, Fury overcame the Ukrainian convincingly and weighed in at 17st 8lbs, but after a turbulent 18 months, which involved Fury being banned after testing positive for cocaine amid a battle with depression, he gradually put on weight.

Fury claimed back in March that he was weighing in at 25 stone or 350 lbs, a far cry from his weight against Klitschko.

But the ‘Gypsy King’ has been training with fellow boxer and world champion Billy Joe Saunders in Marbella the past few weeks.

The pair have been active on social media since their arrival and are training hard in the heat of the south of Spain.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Fury revealed that his weight loss is going well.

“The weight is dripping off, melting off.

“I’ve lost 18lbs already. I can definitely…notice a difference, feeling fitter, everything is going good.”

There is a potential for another Wembley Stadium bout if the fight is announced but realistically we might have to wait a while, with Eddie Hearn insisting that Fury is not next up for ‘AJ’.

Joshua is entertaining the idea of a rematch with Klitschko but also has mandatory challengers in the form Luis Ortiz and Kubrat Pulev, as well as the potential for unification paydays opposite Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker.
