Rockets pull off huge comeback
Trent Rockets have secured their place in the women's Hundred final after a nervy three-wicket win over Southern Brave at Trent Bridge on Monday. Nat Sciver-Brunt's breezy 32 dragged the hosts over the line with two balls to spare, capping a summer of drama in English cricket.
Chasing 118, the Rockets slumped to 10-3 after 25 balls, the lowest powerplay score in the history of the women's tournament, after losing Sophia Dunkley and Beth Mooney early.
Ash Gardner's 37 from 24 balls, including a towering straight six, steadied the innings before England skipper Sciver-Brunt struck three consecutive fours off Issy Wong to swing the chase, as BBC Sport reported. She was run out going for a second run with the scores level before Kim Garth edged the winning runs.
