Premier League players dominate the top 20

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the most valuable players in world football, according to a study on transfer fees conducted by CIES Football Observatory.

Using an algorithm which factored in age, contract status, minutes played, position, goals scored, club performance and international experience, the study calculated an estimated value for the game’s top players.

The full-back, who won the Champions League earlier this month, is ranked 13th, with an estimated value of €130.2m.

He is joined by fellow Englishmen Marcus Rashford (18th), Harry Kane (7th), Jadon Sancho (5th) and Raheem Sterling (3rd).

Though Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe tops the list with a value of €252m, it is dominated by Premier League stars.

Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool teammates, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all feature, as do Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus.

Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo complete the top 20.
