Cech boxed

The Mirror report that Arsenal seem to have won the battle to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea for a fee of around £10m.

The helmet-wearing goalie supposedly wanted assurances that he would be the club’s first-choice number one.

One assumes that Cech was so focused on his job at Stamford Bridge that he was unaware his ‘competition’ would be David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny.

Paris Pog

If Manchester City thought they had a clean run on signing Paul Pogba this summer, they have another thing coming.

The Juventus star is expected to depart Turin for oodles of cash, and City seemed to be the laser blue favourites.

But according to the Star, Paris Saint-Germain’s Qatar owners are ready to compete with City’s Abu Dhabi owners for the lanky Frenchman.

Sergio no-go

One player who seems determined to start next season at the Etihad is Argentine forward Sergio Aguero.

Real Madrid have been sniffing around the player, with the local mouthpiece press bigging up a potential move.

But in a refreshing change from the normal pantomime, the Mirror report that Aguero has quashed rumours by stating his continued loyalty to City.
