In one of the more surprising stories of the summer, Manchester United have been linked to Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

According to the Sun, the 22-year-old has emerged as an alternative option to Atletico Madrid’s Mario Mandzukic.

The Belgian has shown flashes of his best form, but has yet to properly fulfil his immense potential.

Calling a Fab

Another new name rumoured to be of interest to Louis van Gaal is Monaco’s Brazilian right-back Fabinho.

French publication L’Equipe report that it will take something in the region of £10m to secure the player.

This is a strange one, as Monaco have only just secured the 21-year-old on a permanent basis following a loan-deal with former club Rio Ave.

New Jack City

He’s been in the headlines for good reasons (two stunning goals for England) and bad (being sweary about Spurs), but Jack Wilshere is once again big news.

The Mirror reckon that Manchester City have turned their cash-rich attentions towards the pocket-rocket in their quest for homegrown talent.

Whether Arsenal would be willing to sell is another matter, but City are set to test their resolve with a £30m offer.
