Transfer gossip: Bastian Schweinsteiger wants to stay at Bayern Munich

As Manchester United attempt to wrap up the signing of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin this week, another Sch... has gone quiet about a move. According to Sport1 in Germany, Bastian Schweinsteiger has cooled on a move to Old Trafford as he's now keen to stay at Bayern Munich. Apparently the greedy 30-year-old wants to win a fourth consecutive title with the Bundesliga champions.

Emmanuel in place

The Mirror report that Tottenham Hotspur are so keen to win the race to sign Christian Benteke, that they're willing to offer players in part-exchange. And Spurs hold have an ace up the sleeves in the very statuesque shape of Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor. The 31-year-old is of course an old flame of Tim Sherwood's and Daniel Levy will be hoping he's too much to resist for the bantmeister-general.

Vidal won't sign

On the back of signing famous helmet-wearer Petr Cech from Chelsea, Arsenal have proved that every silver lining has a cloud. Gooners who'd hoped that Juventus' Arturo Vidal would be following the keeper through the entrance door at the Emirates are to be disappointed. The Telegraph reckon that Arsene Wenger has ended his interest in the Chile international because he's no longer sure he needs another midfielder.
