Brady’s athletic performance and recovery company, TB12 Sports, deleted a tweet Saturday afternoon that initially acknowledged his retirement. It listed several of Brady’s accomplishments before concluding: “Thank you for it all, @TomBrady.”

However, Michael Silver has since reported that, despite widespread reports, Brady is actually yet to decide on his future and has spoken to the Bucs’ GM about his decision.

Silver tweeted: “Tom Brady contacted @Buccaneers GM Jason Licht and told him he has not yet made a final decision on retirement, disputing the ESPN report. Licht is respecting Brady’s process and waiting for a definitive answer, whenever it comes, from the QB.”

Brady – a seven-time Super Bowl champion – spent the first 20 years of his career at New England Patriots, before moving to the Buccaneers in March 2020.

He has previously spoken about his desire to continue playing in the NFL until the age of 45, which he would achieve if he plays until his birthday in August.

However, he has also discussed the importance of his family in his final decision, adding that they would have a big say in whether he continues, or retires from the game.

Brady has enjoyed a decorated career in the game and is a five-time Super Bowl MVP, three-time NFL MVP, 15-time Pro Bowl, six-time All Pro, the NFL’s all time passing TD leader and the NFL’s all passing yard leader.

The quarterback’s agent, Don Yee, released a statement on Saturday in response to the reports.

His statement reads: “I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future. Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon.”
