The Sunday League side from London were top of their league, eight points clear of second place and nine points clear of third, and required just a solitary point to gain promotion. Then the coronavirus struck.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has left many societies in lockdown, with people advised to social distance to avoid the spread of the disease. As a result, football matches at all levels of the English football pyramid have been suspended indefinitely.
In a situation that mirrors that of England's current top side, Liverpool, Christ Church East Greenwich are now left in limbo with regards to when or if they can lift the title this season.
