22 years after its original release

Can I get through this article without saying those three words? Let’s find out

Future national anthem and the song that will be played on repeat for the rest of eternity if England do somehow managed to win the bloody thing, ‘Three Lions’ by Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds, is the brand new number one in The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 after knocking Clean Bandit’s ‘Solo (feat. Demi Lovato)’ off the top spot tonight.

The football anthem climbed 32 places to the top of The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 following England’s 2-0 win against Sweden thanks to a goals from Harry Maguire’s head and Dele Alli.

Did you belt it out on Saturday on top of a table, pint in hand, with your shirt off?

Of course you did. We all did, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

David Baddiel has himself now admitted that he believes football will be returning to its land of origin, with the following tweet surely the most definitive evidence yet that it is, indeed, en route:

And just because I can, I’d like to take the time to introduce you to the actual best song of this World Cup, the Gareth Southgate version of Atomic Kitten’s ‘Whole Again’.

DJ if you could:

Looking back on when we first met.

I cannot escape and I cannot forget.

Southgate you’re the one.

You still turn me on.

F______’s coming ____ again.
