Thomas Tuchel has confirmed his full England World Cup squad

Some seriously big names have missed out...

The Three Lions begin their campaign to win a first mayor trophy in six decades next month, starting against Croatia in Texas on June 17th, before further group matches versus Ghana and Panama.

Thanks to the English press, publishing insights on Thursday evening, some of the biggest names excluded from the squad — like Cole Palmer, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Phil Foden — were widely reported hours ahead of Tuchel's formal announcement.

Another player, who is definitely confirmed not to be going, is Harry Maguire, who has released a statement in response, detailing his shock.

He wrote: "I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had.

"I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision. I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.

"I wish the players, all the best this summer."

Aside from those big names, every other player who has been overlooked by Tuchel has now finally been confirmed by today's announcement.

So who's actually going?

The biggest surprise inclusion, and biggest talking point from the squad, is the case of Ivan Toney.

Although Toney's goalscoring record in Saudi Arabia certainly is impressive with 32 goals in 32 games, he has not played competitive European football since departing Brentford in 2024.

Meanwhile, dressing room leader Jordan Henderson has also made the squad.

A trio of Newcastle players have been named with Tino Livramento, Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon, but no Lewis Hall.

Arsenal's Miles Lewis-Skelly has also missed out, with Spurs' Djed Spence preferred in his place.
