Thomas Tuchel drops major England star in unexpected change to lineup ahead of Spain clash

Tuchel has dropped one of England’s biggest names to the bench, and a player with just two caps is set to replace him.

The Three Lions face the World Champions at 7.45pm on Saturday, in Tuchel's biggest test since that disappointing semi-final defeat to Argentina ended the Three Lions' own hopes at glory in the summer.

After an injury crisis plagued the opening days of Tuchel's camp, with five stars including Declan Rice and Cole Palmer dropping out, another of the Three Lions most established stars will miss the Spain clash, after being omitted from the lineup.

As reported by Sami Mokbel of BBC Sport, Jordan Pickford has been replaced in the starting XI by Leeds United's James Trafford.

Trafford has had an impressive start to the season with the Yorkshire outfit and appears to have been rewarded by Tuchel.

As part of his report, Mokbel also provided an expected starting XI.

It is as follows: "Trafford; Quansah, Konsa, Guehi, O’Reilly; Anderson, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane."
