The Anfield crowd even resorted to some uncharacteristic boos on Wednesday, with many having now lost faith in the manager.
Frustrations ran so high that a large section of the crowd left the match early, missing extra-time and penalties. It was so busy outside that one fan couldn't even get a taxi home...
