This French football manager’s speech is more inspirational than any Hollywood film

They had it all Toulouse

Independence Day, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Pascal Dupraz had the best inspirational speech of all time.

The Toulouse manager has blown Hollywood out of the water with the speech that inspired the French club’s players to drag themselves out of the relegation mire on the final day of the season.

Telling his players that “you deserve to stay up,” Dupraz rallied his troops before the final day clash with Angers in a way that few managers could.

“At the last moment we push through. At the last moment there is good,” he added, as the players looked to lift themselves out of the relegation zone for the first time since October.

Appealing to his players’ emotions, he ends his talk with videos of encouragement, causing at least one squad member to wipe his eyed.

Dupraz’s powers of motivation had been evident even before the final game. After replacing Dominique Arribagé in March following an eight-game winless run, he helped Toulouse pick up 15 points from nine matches.

With 15 minutes remaining, it looked as though his efforts had come to nought with Le Tef trailing by two goals to one.

But, in one last push, Martin Braithwaite and Yann Bodiger struck late on to earn the club the victory they needed to climb above Reims at the last.
