It's not quite Peter Odemwingie driving to Loftus Road, but still...
Wantaway Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was reported as having gone AWOL today after he failed to show up to training. The goalkeeper has been a transfer target for Real Madrid all summer and now appears to be trying to force through a move.
It was not previously known where he had gone, but it now looks as though he is in Tenerife, the Spanish island just off the coast of Africa, some 2,000 kilometres away from Madrid.
It therefore doesn't look like he is trying to emulate the failed tactic of Peter Odemwingie, who once drove down to Loftus Road in an attempt to force through a move from West Brom to QPR. Incredible, he never actually played for QPR despite being the most QPR player of all time.
Anyway Courtois was spotted in a Spar supermarket in Tenerife, and the shop's Twitter account posted a photo of him posing with two employees.

"Today we received a visit from Thiabut Courtois at our Spar Mar Bella. Many thanks for being to friendly and kind with us. #AlwaysCloseToYou."
This story will no doubt develop further over the coming days, maybe he'll be spotted at a Little Chef in Mallorca. Maybe he will sign a contract with Real Madrid at a Greggs on the Gran Via. Who knows?
