There’s a rumour that Julio Baptista is in England and about to sign for a new club

Bolton Wanderers may be about to sign a former Brazil international who has 47 caps to his name.

We haven't heard much about Julio Baptista in recent years but he could be about to come storming into our lives with an unlikely switch to Bolton. He returned to Real Madrid but was sold to Roma in 2008 while recent seasons have seen him line out for Malaga, Cruzeiro and Orlando City. Set to turn 36 next month, Baptista had been linked with Bolton earlier this summer and despite the fact that negotiations are dragging on ever so slightly according to a report in the Sun, he could be announced as a Bolton player soon as they aim to bolster their attacking options in their ambitious aim to make it back-to-back promotions. Bolton are currently serving a transfer embargo but club chairman Ken Anderson remains hopeful that the Football League gives the green light to sign Baptista, who is a free agent.
