The reason behind Isco’s match-winning celebration is absolutely amazing

Incredible

Isco, take a bow!

As if the Real Madrid midfielder’s early equaliser against Sporting Gijon wasn’t good enough, Isco went on to seal the victory with a dramatic injury time winner.

And while the sublime close control for his first was impressive, so too was the precision of his near post drive late on.

But exceeding both goals in terms of reasons to praise the Spaniard comes the thinking behind his goal celebration.

As Isco wheeled away to join his teammates in the relief and jubilation that accompanied the guarantee of all three points for Zinedine Zidane’s side, he made the below gesture with both his hands.

The gesture bore a resemblance to the “sign of the horns”, which you might often see at heavy metal concerts but Isco was not coming out as a metal-head.

The reason for celebrating as he did was because of a young girl he had met before the game.

The girl told Isco that her parents were deaf and that they would greatly appreciate it if he could sign the gesture which translates to ‘I love you’ if he happened to get on the scoresheet.

“She asked me if I scored if I could make this gesture and that it signified I love you,” Isco said. “I remembered her and I did it.”

He’s a top man is ol’ Isco.
