The Paul Pogba/Jesse Lingard bromance just keeps on blooming

Manchester United are looking right at home in the Europa League.

After struggling to a surprise defeat to Feyenoord on the opening day of the tournament, United have turned things around and now sit atop their group after breezing past Turkish side Fenerbahce on Thursday night.

Jose Mourinho’s men were criticised heavily for their performance against Liverpool on Monday night, in which the Red Devils conceded the majority of possession to their old rivals and toughed out a 0-0 draw.

But they stuck four past an inept Fenerbahce team who included former Premier League stalwarts Robin van Persie and Martin Skrtel.

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial converted penalties within three minutes of each other in the first half to give United a 2-0 lead before Pogba all but secured the three points with a long-range effort right before the half.

United fans were happy to see the £89m man show the skill that made Mourinho so keen to entice him back to Old Trafford, but there was something else that brought them joy.

As Pogba basked in the glory of his second goal of the night, he sought out fellow 23-year-old Jesse Lingard to celebrate in style.

Lingard then got on the scoresheet himself, netting his side’s fourth goal on the night, before throwing another dab with his French team-mate.

United fans couldn’t help but get giddy about the pair’s burgeoning friendship.

Of course, not everyone was impressed.
