Steven N'Zonzi will not be a Sevilla player for much longer
Having starred for France during their successful World Cup campaign in Russia, Steven N'Zonzi is set to be rewarded with a move to Serie A giants AS Roma.
The former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City midfielder has been a mainstay for Sevilla since joining the club in the summer of 2015, and went on to win the UEFA Europa League in his first season with the club.
N'Zonzi has been linked with a move to a bigger side for a number of seasons, with a number of Premier League supporters urging their clubs to approach the player during the summer.
A return to England appears unlikely however with the news that the 29-year-old is expected to arrive in Rome this week to finalise a move.
In joining the side from the Italian capital, N'Zonzi will reunite with former Sevilla director of football Monchi, who assumed the same role at Roma prior to the 2017/18 season.
Manager Eusebio Di Francesco will be hoping that N'Zonzi will help plug the gap left following the departure of the influential Radja Nainggolan to rivals Inter Milan.
The midfielder is expected to arrive in Rome on Tuesday and the deal is rumoured to be valued at close to £26 million.
