While English was being spoken during Gerrard's press conference ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with NK Maribor, the Scottish accent from some reporters in attendance proved a touch tricky for new signing Nikola Katic.
Katic, who was one of Gerrard's first signings at Ibrox, sat alongside his manager for the press conference but needed some assistance from the Liverpool legend.

"He said that sometimes I say nice things about you. Sometimes, to the media, you have to lie," Gerrard joked. "Are you happy with the praise that I gave you as a player?"
Katic had no problem understanding Gerrard's Scouse accent and responded immediately.
"I saw the video. I love him also," the Croatian answered.
Shortly afterwards, Katic needed Gerrard to explain what another journalist meant by a question regarding the importance of playing European football.
"It's really important," Katic said. "It's a great step because every Thursday, you play against European teams. It's a lot of games but you can improve game-by-game so I think it's a great step for me."
Gerrard then left the press conference in stitches by announcing himself as "the first Scouse translator."
