Steven Gerrard is dreading one thing about Liverpool reunion with Jamie Carragher

Tom Victor

Steven Gerrard will don the Liverpool captain’s armband for the first time since leaving the club when he turns out for a legends XI match in Australia.

And while the former Reds captain is looking forward to many things about the experience, the prospect of Jamie Carragher’s voice ringing in his ears is not one of them.

“I’m not looking forward to that, definitely not!” the LA Galaxy midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I’m not worried about the player because the player will never let you down. I’m just more worried about that constant voice in my ear for two hours!”

Both Gerrard and Carragher made more than 700 appearances in a Liverpool shirt during their time on Merseyside.

The pair will be reunited as a Liverpool Legends XI take on an Australian Legends XI in Sydney.

Didi Hamann and Luis Garcia, two members of Liverpool’s 2005 Champions League winning squad, will also be involved.
