‘A movement!!’

NBA star Steph Curry has responded to Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembélé copying his ‘night night’ celebration after scoring twice in a pre-season friendly against Juventus.

Curry registered 34 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists as The Golden State Warriors won this year’s NBA championship, beating the Boston Celtics 103-90 in Game 6 to win the series 4-2 last month.

The 34-year-old, who was named Finals MVP, has sent fans into frenzy on a number of occasions this year, often pulling out his ‘night night’ celebration.

Curry’s celebration goes global

Several sports stars around the world have emulated Curry’s sleeping pose, which is used to suggest that the job is done and the game is over.

The latest high-profile athlete to pull out the celebration is Barcelona forward Dembélé, who did it after both of his two goals in a pre-season friendly against Juventus in Dallas on Tuesday.

The Frenchman opened the scoring in the first half with a tidy finish after dancing past Alex Sandro. However, Juventus pulled a goal back through Moise Kean just five minutes later.

Dembélé restored the LaLiga side’s lead just a minute after the restart, beating Juan Cuadrado before unleashing a fierce strike past Wojciech Szczesny.

However, the Serie A giants levelled once against, with Kean bagging his second goal of the friendly.

Given the match finished as a draw, Dembélé’s ‘night night’ celebration didn’t quite ring true. Despite this, Curry loved the fact that the pose is going global, writing on Twitter: “A movement!!”.

Golden State star Curry debuted the celebration in the Warriors’ opening round NBA play-off game against the Denver Nuggets in April.

The American pulled it out once again, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics as the Warriors secure a fourth NBA Championship title in eight seasons.
