As if getting rolled over 5-0 in your own back yard wasn’t already embarrassing enough for Steaua Bucharest, they were also the victims of a truly magnificent prank from supporters of city rivals Dinamo Bucharest on Tuesday night.
If you caught any of Manchester City’s Champions League qualifier in the Romanian capital, you probably clocked the giant tifo on show ahead of kick off and continuing for most of the match. You may not have realised that the tifo read “Doar Dinamo Bucuresti” – translating to ‘Only Dinamo Bucharest’ for those of us that aren’t fluent Romanian speakers.
hahaha, Dinamo Bucharest's fans sabotaged Steaua's choreo with the message "only Dinamo Bucharest". Epic. pic.twitter.com/3XOHlvIYTi

So, how the hell did they manage to pull it off?
According to reports, while posing as professionals, Dinamo supporters contacted Steaua offering them to help prepare a tifo for the match. Incredibly, Steaua’s board not only agreed, but appear to have trusted the group enough to let them create the tifo without bothering to check what it looked like.
As a result, thousands of blissfully unaware Steaua’s fans spent their night paying tribute to Dinamo, while watching their own side get well and truly battered before their eyes.
For what it’s worth, Steaua still have to play out a second leg against City next week, even though their Champions League aspirations are as good as dead.
But before that, there’s the small matter of this weekend’s match. Guess who the visitors are? Yep, that’s right – Dinamo Bucharest.
