6,000 Tottenham fans will be able to take a tour of new stadium before grand opening

Tottenham Hotspur will hold a ballot exclusive to season ticket holders, with the winners receiving a tour of their new stadium before its grand opening. Unforeseen circumstances have caused several delays to the unveiling of the stadium, which the club had intended to open before the start of this season. They now hope to have the stadium ready for their game against Manchester United in January, and in preparation Spurs will be hosting several test events to make sure it passes the necessary safety measures for hosting Premier League matches. They will also be giving 6,000 lucky season-ticket holders the chance to explore the new stadium. The 'specially-arranged familiarisation event' will take place on Sunday 16 December between 11am and 3pm and will give 'the chance to visit and explore the South Stand and podium areas,' according to the club. In a statement, Tottenham said: "During the event, fans will be able to familiarise themselves with the journey they will take on a home matchday, with access to both entry level podiums – Park Lane Square to the south and Paxton Terrace at the north."

"Here, fans will be helping us test the matchday security procedure and entry through our South Stand turnstiles, with the iconic single-tier stand open for you to explore."

It costs nothing to enter, but winners will be charged £1 each so that Spurs can test their new ticketing system. Ballot winners will be given the opportunity to sample the club's 'street food style emporium'. That includes stalls such as Chicken House, Naan & Noodle and Smashed Olive. They will also have the chance to drink in the stadium's bar areas, including the Goal Line Bar, which runs the entire length of the goal-line on the pitch and at 65m long is Europe's longest bar.
