No one reps a football shirt better than Snoop Dogg. Manchester United, England, Norwich City? He's worn them all. And the rest. It's quite the tradition. Everyone knows.
Recently in an interview with Jordan North on Capital, the American icon was gifted with a latest shirt to add to his collection.
In response, he joked hilariously about the repercussions of wearing jerseys on rival territory.
Recalling 2016, the presenter showed Snoop Dogg an old-school photo of him sporting a Burnley shirt, which has since done the rounds countlessly:
"Do you remember as well, in 2016 you were given a Burnley shirt? Do you remember this?"
Recalling the shirt worn by the likes of Steven Defour, Snoop Dogg insisted that he is "very particular" about the jerseys he wears. Count yourself very lucky if your team is part of this elite club.
He then went on to state the unwritten rule of not wearing shirts in enemy territory hilariously:
"I know not to wear them in enemy territory! I didn't know that in the beginning! I just did, when I first started coming out here.
"I think I wore a Manchester U(Utd)!"
North responded sharply: "(In) Liverpool?"
"Yes, something like that! 'What the **** are you doing? Snoop take that jacket off!' I thought I was representing!"
North then kindly gifted Snoop Dogg the latest Burnley shirt to be worn in the upcoming Championship season, but with a needed piece of advice:
"I'm going to give you an up to date Burnley top because that's my football team. But don't wear this in Blackburn!"
Now fully aware of the strict rules of English football and the big no-no, Snoop responded:
"Damn! See I hate when y'all do that, y'all be giving me jerseys, you're worse than gang members!"
On the shirt itself, Snoop was a big fan of the Clarets traditional colours:
"I like the baby blue with the burgundy and that little yellow, that's cold!"
North was quick to inform Snoop on the colour terminology in the North West:
"It's claret and blue!"
Hilariously Snoop replied:
"Claret? That's not burgundy? I told y'all, we got the same thing! Y'all just put your own words on it. Y'all love changing stuff."
The shirt however always needs a name on the back and North explained the beautiful gesture behind the meaning of the chosen "Brad and Sophie":
"So that's my brother, he's getting married on Friday."
Snoop then sent his well-wishes in the best manner:
"Congratulations Brad and Sophie, hopefully you're going to make a couple of babies, man.
"Name one of them Snoop Dogg!"
We look forward to seeing Snoop in the claret and blue ahead of the new season.
