Sergio Ramos insists Real Madrid don’t fear Mohamed Salah

Fighting talk from Real Madrid's captain

Fighting talk

Sergio Ramos doesn’t understand the concept of fear. While most of us, even those of us who consider ourselves adequate footballers, would fear playing against Mohamed Salah right now, Ramos does not even consider that possibility. He doesn’t even fear diving in two footed while on a second yellow, why on earth would he be scared of Mo Salah?

“We have seen what Salah can do this season, but he will just be one of 11 players we face against Liverpool”, Ramos told The Mirror, before adding:

“Throughout my career, I have faced the best forward players in the world – many of them who are considered among the greatest ever. For me, there is never a fear. A respect, yes, but never a fear.”

Ramos’ ballsy way of playing is a double-edged sword. The confidence and commitment with which he plays helped him win three international trophies and lead Real Madrid to three Champions League victories too, but it does make him a bit of a loose cannon. The battle between him and Salah down Madrid’s left channel, with Marcelo likely to vacate space as he bombs forward, is set to be a fascinating one.

Madrid will go into the final as favourites due to their recent history success in the tournament as well as the wealth of talent in their squad, but they are not without their faults and Liverpool pose a serious threat.
