That's a philosophy espoused by some of the best coaches on the planet and it makes complete sense for fighters to focus on what can be improved following a defeat rather than dwelling on any negativity.
Ben Saunders has been around the MMA game for over 14 years and while he might be one of the most experienced fighters in the UFC's welterweight division, 'Killa B' will never turn down the opportunity to learn.
Saunders had never been submitted before in his career and remains one of the most dangerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the sport but he was forced to tap out to an arm triangle last weekend.
The 35-year-old came up short against Sergio Moraes in Brazil on Saturday night and rather than beat himself up for his defeat, Saunders was eager to find out what he did wrong.

Saunders eventually submitted to an arm triangle but was keen to find out how Moraes set the choke up.
And after the fight, Saunders sought out the Brazilian for a tutorial and was worked through the transition from an omoplata to the mount position.
It's a shining example for young fighters that mean mugging and trash-talking might help to boost fan interest in a fight but respect ought to come first.
