Sergio Agüero will be wearing a special pair of customised boots for the Manchester derby

For one night only...

The final Manchester derby of the season takes place on Thursday night, with United travelling to the Etihad to face a City side that sit just a single point ahead of them in the league table.

To mark the occasion, City’s Sergio Agüero will be donning a special pair of customised boots for the match.

The PUMA evoSPEED SL-S boots were designed by Yianni Charalambous – owner and founder of car customising company, Yiannimize – and were delivered to Agüero in a Nissan GT-R decorated in the same design.

Before the boots were handed over to the man himself, the car stopped off at several iconic venues in and around the city, including Old Trafford, The Etihad Stadium, Salford Lads’ Club and Manchester Town Hall.

The boots are the fifth instalment of the PUMA Derby Fever Pack –  a collection that celebrates the meetings between local football foes. As the images below show, the boots are (of course) predominantly light blue, featuring a the black PUMA logo on the side with gold edging.

On the instep side of the boots’ heel, there is also a small image of a worker bee – an emblem often associated with Manchester due to the leading role the city played during the Industrial Revolution.

“I knew nothing about this,” Agüero said of the surprise delivery. “But as a supercar fan, I was pretty excited when the custom wrapped Nissan GT-R parked up to deliver my evoSPEED SL-S Derby Fever boots.

“The boots and the car look great, I can’t wait to wear the boots in the derby, it’s the first fixture I look out for when the fixtures are announced.”
