Sergio Aguero is back in Manchester.
News emerged on Friday morning that the Manchester City striker had been involved in a car crash in Amsterdam on Thursday night, having attended a concert in the city by the Colombian singer, Maluma.
The crash was reported to have left the striker with a broke rib – an injury Aguero has now confirmed in a string of tweets sent on Friday evening.
Firstly, the Argentina international explained that the taxi he had been in at the time of the crash had taken a wrong turn shortly before colliding with a pole.
The taxi I was riding made a wrong turn and crashed against a pole. It was a very heavy slam but seatbelts prevented it from being worse.

Following this, he thanked staff that took care of him after the crash before explaining that City’s club doctor had confirmed a break to to his rib.

It’s unclear how long Aguero, who is joint top scorer in the Premier League with six goals, is expected to be sidelined for. Reports on Friday morning suggested he may be out of action for between six to eight weeks. If accurate, this would mean Aguero will miss a number of games for City, perhaps most notably their matches against Napoli in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’s side will not only be without Aguero for the visit to Chelsea on Saturday evening, but also defenders Vincent Kompany and Benjamin Mendy.
Guardiola confirmed that Kompany has yet to train with City since picking up an injury with Belgium last month. Mendy injured his knee in last weekend’s victory over Crystal Palace. Scans have since confirmed the full-back is expected to be missing for longer than was initially anticipated with damage to his knee ligaments.
