This all happened way too quickly to say for certain whether Scott Brown intended it.
Brown played the full 90 minutes as Celtic claimed a straightforward 4-1 victory over Hamilton Academical on Friday night.
A Scott Sinclair brace was sandwiched by goals from Stuart Armstrong and debutant Odsonne Edouard at the SuperSeal Stadium.
After the game, the BT Sport panel focused on more than the goals as they criticised Brown after the Hoops midfielder appeared to make contact with the face of Hamilton’s Giannis Skondras.
Skondras hit the deck under a challenge from the Scot, whose left foot then seemed to connect with the defender’s face.

Brown escaped punishment for the incident but BT Sport pundits, Ally McCoist and Chris Sutton, held nothing back in ridiculing the fiery Brown after the final whistle.
“Listen, Scott’s been great all season,” McCoist said. “And I was going to say that I’ve been really impressed with his maturity.
“But that’s just stupidity.
“There was no need for it and he’s giving the ref a decision to make there.”
Celtic legend Chris Sutton agreed with McCoist’s assessment of the incident, suggesting that Brown was fortunate not to have been dismissed.
“I think he’s a lucky boy to stay on the pitch,” Sutton said.
“There’s an angle there which looks like Scott Brown had a flick out at the Hamilton player.
“That should be a red card.”
