Hopefully, Salah and Ronaldo carry this form into the World Cup this summer.

Egypt took on Portugal in Switzerland on Friday night in an international friendly ahead of the World Cup.

And, unsurprisingly, each team’s talisman was at the centre of the action.

Mohamed Salah carried his incredible club form onto the international stage, but Cristiano Ronaldo had the last word, scoring two stoppage-time goals to earn the European champions a victory.

Salah opened the scoring early in the second-half. The Liverpool forward, who has scored 36 goals at club level already this season, and was instrumental in Egypt qualifying for the World Cup, hit a beautifully curled effort from the edge of the box.

However, Ronaldo wasn’t prepared to sit back and be upstaged by the Egyptian Messi.

The Portugal captain scored the equaliser in the 92nd minute, ghosting into the area before nodding home.

He then scored another with the final touch of the game, rising to thump home a towering header past the Egyptian goalkeeper.

Hopefully, Salah and Ronaldo carry this form into the World Cup this summer.
