Liverpool supporters will be delighted with Mo Salah’s reaction to fitness test

The man's a beast

In case you didn’t know, Mohamed Salah is a beast.

Rival supporters will hope that Salah will prove to be a one-season wonder because a repeat of last term’s heroics, coupled with Liverpool’s investment this summer, will almost certainly see Jurgen Klopp’s side challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Salah’s debut campaign on Merseyside will go down in history as the Egypt international scored 44 goals across all competitions in just 52 games after arriving from Roma for £36.9 million.

The 26-year-old, who has signed a contract extension with the Reds, has only just returned to his club after Egypt’s involvement in the World Cup and he definitely can’t be accused of resting on his laurels.

Salah impressed as he took part in a lactate threshold test with teammates Sadio Mane and Marko Grujic on Friday.

The fitness test involves blood samples being taken from players after each lap of a pitch, measuring the levels of lactic acid, and it’s a gruelling process for players returning from time away from regular training.

James Milner dominated proceedings when he took part in the test a couple of weeks ago and it seems that Salah is blessed with a similar gas tank because he wanted to keep going after the fitness test came to an end.

After being told to stop jogging, Salah asked a member of Liverpool’s backroom staff: “Can we do it again?”

No wonder he’s so popular at Anfield…
