Rival supporters will hope that Salah will prove to be a one-season wonder because a repeat of last term's heroics, coupled with Liverpool's investment this summer, will almost certainly see Jurgen Klopp's side challenge for the Premier League title next season. The 26-year-old, who has signed a contract extension with the Reds, has only just returned to his club after Egypt's involvement in the World Cup and he definitely can't be accused of resting on his laurels. Salah impressed as he took part in a lactate threshold test with teammates Sadio Mane and Marko Grujic on Friday. The fitness test involves blood samples being taken from players after each lap of a pitch, measuring the levels of lactic acid, and it's a gruelling process for players returning from time away from regular training.
