Liverpool have got off to a flying start in the transfer market, bar one hiccup in the Fekir saga. The arrival of Fabinho was greeted with a buzz fitting for a signing of that magnitude. Combine that with Naby Keita joining from RB Leipzig and Liverpool’s midfield will take some stopping next season.

However, they will also need to keep hold of their best players if they are to mount a title challenge next season. All bids for Mohamed Salah will be dismissed, given his importance to the side. But should the big boys come sniffing, other players could be tempted away.

Real Madrid have shown interest in Liverpool winger Sadio Mané, who has hinted that his future could lie away from Anfield.

“I am very happy in Liverpool and my contract will last for three more years,” he told Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten.

“But you never know what will happen in the future. I want to win trophies, especially the Champions League.”

Mané caused Real Madrid a lot of problems against Real Madrid in the Champions League final, taking on the burden of leading the attack after Salah went off injured and scoring Liverpool’s only goal of the game.

But for now, the forward will be focussed on the World Cup, where he will be the star man for Senegal, who play Poland, Colombia and Japan in their group.

England could come up against Senegal in the second round of the World Cup, which could see Mané potentially line up directly against teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
