Cristiano Ronaldo has ‘already had his medical’ with Juventus

This is starting to feel inevitable

Usually, when reports do the rounds of Cristiano Ronaldo wanting to leave Real Madrid, it only ever ends one way: with a new, improved contract at the Bernabeu. This time, however, things seem different…

Reports that Ronaldo is on the brink of a move to Juventus refuse to die, some claiming that an £88m deal could be complete in a matter of hours with the European champions keen to replace him with Kylian Mbappe.

Luciano Moggi, the former CEO at the Italian champions, has gone as far as suggesting Ronaldo has already signed for Juve,  completing medicals with them in Munich.

Having sent a tweet on Wednesday evening, Moggi explained he’d arrived at this conclusion after speaking to “important people”, presumably close to the deal.

“This is what I think after having spoken to important people,” the 80-year-old later told Tele7Gold.

If Ronaldo does move to Turin, the £88m fee that he is expected to fetch will be £8m more than the fee Real paid to bring him from Manchester United in 2009.

Juve will reportedly look to sell at least one of their key players to help sign Ronaldo. Gonzalo Higuain, once one of his teammates in Madrid, is once of the players that may depart, while Paulo Dybala may also be allowed to leave, too.

Images showing Juventus shirts with Ronaldo’s name and the number seven printed on the back have been widely shared on social media on Thursday. Although some are wary these are nothing more than a hoax, other seem to believe this is another clue that Juve are preparing to make a very important announcement.

Ronaldo and his Portuguese teammates were knocked out of the World Cup in the last-16 stage by Uruguay last week, two Edinson Cavani goals helping the South Americans to a 2-1 win in Sochi.
