Reports: Lionel Messi is set to meet the Afghan child with the plastic bag Argentina kit

An iconic photo of Afghan child Murtaza Ahmadi has captured the imagination of the world.

The five-year-old was pictured wearing an Argentina shirt which he had fashioned out of a plastic bag - with Lionel Messi's name and number scrawled on the back. And now, according to reports in Argentina, the player himself has got in contact with the Afghan Football Federation in an effort to pay the youngster a visit. TYC Sports reports that: "The leadership of the Afghan Football Federation (AFF) received emails from Lionel Messi and Barcelona regarding the meeting." A time and place is yet to be finalised, according to the Argentine publication, but it seems as though Murtaza will get the chance to meet his idol.
