Real Madrid have all but confirmed the signing of Santos sensation Rodrygo.

The 17-year-old Brazilian will be joining the Spanish club this summer, but disputes between Santos, the player’s agents and Real Madrid have delayed the process.

When the spat between the client and Santos has been resolved, Real Madrid will announce the signing of the young prodigy.

He won’t be short of cash once he arrives at the Bernabéu, as Real Madrid are reportedly set to pay him a €10m signing on fee, on top of his €330,000 per month salary.

Santos will be well compensated too. While it was reported that the Brazilian club only received an initial €17m for Neymar when he left for Barcelona in 2013, Santos will receive a healthy €45m from Madrid for Rodrygo.

The similarities between Rodrygo and Neymar go further than that too. His playing style is scarily reminiscent of Neymar’s, hence why Madrid are so willing to splash so much cash on the teenager.

Rodrygo might not be the only piece of business Real Madrid do in the Brazilian market this summer, as they are also likely to sign Vinícius Júnior from Flamengo, although that deal is also up in the air due to complications. The player has said he does not know if or when the deal will be concluded.
