Real Madrid fans are never afraid to make their voices heard

Whether it’s getting the white hankies out, whistling their greatest ever player or voting in polls, Real Madrid fans never shy away from expressing their honest opinion.

Madridistas everywhere are still recovering from the abrupt resignation of Zinedine Zidane, who won three Champions League titles in as many seasons.

Potential replacements include Mauricio Pochettino, Maurizio Sarri, and Guti, who used to play for Madrid and now manages their U19s.

Spanish newspaper MARCA conducted a poll to canvas opinion on which coach the fans would most like to see in the dugout at the Bernabeu next season. The results are not that surprising, although the most popular name has not really been in the conversation.

29% of participants voted for Jürgen Klopp as their preferred option. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that Madrid just met Klopp’s Liverpool in the Champions League final and were the benefactors of three huge chunks of fortune on the night.

However, there is a very slim chance of Klopp leaving Liverpool this summer to move to Madrid. The German has previously stated that he will take a one year break from the game after he leaves Liverpool, whenever that may be. He’s also presumably keen to finish what he started at Liverpool and have a proper crack at winning the league title next season.

Pochettino was second favourite, receiving 23% of the vote, while Guti was just behind on 20%. Germany manager Joachim Löw got just 14% of the vote.
