Rangers miss forces caretaker boss to literally turn upside down in frustration

It's actually quite impressive.

Darragh Murphy

In three years time, when Graeme Murty is a star gymnast, he will look back on yesterday as a defining day in his career.

On February 19, 2017 Rangers’ caretaker manager discovered that he had an athletic feat up his sleeve that he’d probably never realised before.

Rangers succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at Dundee on Sunday afternoon but the visitors enjoyed their fair share of chances late on which definitely should have been put away.

One of the most frustrating ones for Murty, who is standing in for the recently resigned Mark Warburton, came via the right boot of late substitute Harry Forrester.

Forrester failed to test the Dundee ‘keeper as he skied his effort, which was far less impressive than the touchline gymnastics taking place just fifty yards away.

As the ball sailed off target, Murty rolled to his back, somehow balanced on his head and forearms before brilliantly springing back to his feet.

Say what you will but there are not many 42-year-olds who could pull this off so seamlessly.
