A fantastic signing for Inter

Radja Nainggolan will undergo a medical at Inter tomorrow, before he signs for the Milan club from Roma for a fee rumoured to be in the region of €29m, according to reports in Italy. Inter youngster Nicolò Zaniolo will go the other way as part of the transfer.

The Belgian was one of Roma’s most important players last season, impressing in a more advanced midfield role under Eusebio Di Francesco.

The deal will see Nainggolan earn a reported salary of €4.5m per year.

Both Inter and Roma qualified for next season’s Champions League, after Inter pipped Lazio to fourth place on the final day of the season.

Nainggolan has had a turbulent career. His talent has never been in question but his lifestyle choices have led to many fallouts with managers, most notably Robert Martínez who decided against taking him to this summer’s World Cup.

He expressed his disapproval of Martínez’s decision on Instagram, announcing his retirement from international football.
