Radamel Falcao reminds taunting Spurs fans of the score as he leaves Wembley pitch

No need for words

There wasn’t an awful lot for Tottenham fans – all 85,011 of them – to shout about on Wednesday night.

Their side’s return to Champions League football might have broken an attendance record for an English club in the competition, but all in all, it was a frustrating night at Wembley.

Visitors Monaco took a two goal lead, and despite Toby Alderweireld pulling one back for the ‘home’ side, they couldn’t find an equaliser in the second half.

Still, at least the sight of former Manchester United and Chelsea striker, Radamel Falcao, kept a few Spurs fans amused.

The Colombian, back with the Monte Carlo club following a couple of disappointing years in England, was taunted with shouts of ‘Chelsea reject’ from Spurs supporters as he left the field.

But Falcao, who was once one of the most feared strikers in world football, was happy enough to respond, reminding the Spurs supporters of the final score as he made his way to the changing rooms.

Falcao joined Monaco from Atletico Madrid for £51m in 2013. In Spain, he’d scored 70 goals in 91 appearances and had racked up a similarly impressive 72 goals in 87 with Porto.

Unfortunately, Falcao has failed to hit the same heights since damaging cuciate ligaments months into his debut season with Monaco.
