Didn't really make any blunders. Solid enough.

Darmian - 6

Was poor on the night after an encouraging start to his United career.

Smalling - 8

Some positive runs forward and was defending on his own at times.

Blind - 5

Decent start but was poor when asked to fill in at left-back.

Shaw - 8

Was excellent before his suspected leg break. Horrendously cruel.

Schweinsteiger - 8

United's best midfielder, but seemed to tire towards the end of the game.

Herrera - 7

Did okay, but seemed inhibited with Mata taking up his usual space.

Young - 7

Not quite his exuberant self. Was lively without being a huge threat.

Mata - 6

A big chance to impress in a central position. He didn't take it.

Memphis - 8

Looked dangerous and scored the opener with a fine effort.

Martial - 8

Impressive full debut. Excellent close-control and a great outlet. Distribution needs a little work.

Subs:

Rojo - 5

Looked understandably rusty, but didn't do Smalling any favours.

Fellaini - 3

He made United a poorer side. A night to forget.

Valencia - 2

Made Fellaini look good.
